Elevations & Plans

Efficient and functional, the interior and exterior design brings together the best ideas from our own experiences as well as those of the many people whose input we have sought. In a relatively compact package -- at least in terms of new, single-family homes -- 725 Forest St delivers functionality, convenience, and beauty for the way people want to live their lives today.

725 Forest is a clean compact design, highlighting durable contemporary materials -- steel and cement panels -- and the subtle contrast of colors from grey, metal sides to an off-white paneled front. The below-grade garage helps to maintain the integrity of the facade while alluding to the spacious functionality of the lower level. The front door entrance with its warm cedar accents is the natural focus of the front facade.

The upper level unfolds via a steel and wood staircase to a generous landing. The north wall of the stairwell is a dramatic, translucent curtain wall system that allows natural light to enter the entire central core of the house without compromising privacy. The upper level provides 2 secondary bedrooms with separate full baths and a generous master suite with a deck and sliding glass doors overlooking the native grass roof. There is also the option of adding a roof-top observation deck with dramatic views of the front range. Additional features on this level include a laundry room and storage closet and 9 foot ceilings throughout.

The main level provides open, flexible living and entertaining space that seamlessly encompasses the outdoors through the west-facing, operable glass wall. As one enters the main staircase will serve as a dramatic introduction. The stair is a free-standing steel and maple timber stair framed by a huge wall of light (in the form of the translucent, insulated glass wall system borrowed from commercial applications). A generous island that also serves as an informable dining or sitting space stradles the center of a very generous living, dining, cooking area. Tucked behind the kitchen area is a huge pantry and recycling area. The main level also offers a flexibly-designed office/den/guest room with a private bathroom and 10 foot ceilings throughout.

The family room area has been designed so that it could be divided to provide an additional bedroom or to meet other needs. There are 9 foot ceilings throughout the lower level (except the garage).
